As Peace Corps Cambodia’s 14th cohort nears the end of their service, volunteers gather for a two-day Close of Service conference. Director of Programming and Training, Michael Keel, walks us through how this event offers a meaningful space to reflect on their individual journeys and shared achievements, celebrating the positive impact they’ve made alongside their Cambodian communities.

Through discussions, workshops, and group activities, volunteers revisit memorable moments, exchange stories, and examine the skills they’ve gained. The conference also focuses on preparing them for life after Peace Corps, providing resources and guidance on transitioning back home, career planning, and staying connected to their global community.
