BROADCASTS

As a journalism student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), I produced broadcasts covering local and campus news, developing skills in reporting, scripting, and video production. I conducted interviews, edited footage, and presented stories that informed and engaged the community.

All of these videos were produced, shot, and edited by Taylor Ramirez as a journalism student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

UIUC WRESTLING

Dec 3, 2022—Illinois wrestling team's back-to-back home opener at the State Farm Center, where they faced Chattanooga and Pittsburgh. Illinois secured a dominant 32-9 victory over Chattanooga in the first dual but fell 6-30 to Pittsburgh in the second.

For this project, I honed my sports journalism skills by capturing dynamic footage and editing a VO video highlighting key moments for UI7 Live. I crafted a timed script to ensure the broadcast seamlessly aligned with the visuals, delivering a polished and engaging segment.

UIUC TAILGATE

Sept. 10, 2022 — The Fighting Illini kicked off tailgating season with a lively gathering at Grange Grove ahead of the Illinois vs. Virginia game. Current students, alumni, and their families and friends came together to celebrate with food, drinks, music, and game-day traditions. With spirits high and perfect football weather, the energy was undeniable as fans geared up to cheer on the Illini.

This project required a sharp eye for detail as I captured the energy of Illini tailgating, weaving together scenes of games, grilling, and music. In post-production, I ensured smooth audio transitions and visual continuity, creating a cohesive, dynamic segment. Delivered on deadline to UI7 Live, the final piece featured a VO and timed script for a polished, engaging broadcast.
